Just keep in mind that your gun is a rarity - exotic and hard to find. Most of your fellow sailors and associates will either be interested in itor outright jealous and envious. Hell, they may even want it for themselves and try to take it sometimes.

Sorry its more bullets Sam. I couldn't be as creative as Sean dear. XD Backstory Dump! - Was born to somewhat poor parents, and lived in the docks of some city he doesn’t care enough to remember. They were either busy, neglectful, or both, but he doesn’t really remember them being around much. Arthur instead wandered the streets from a young age generally being trouble.
He got wrapped up in gangs pretty early in life and ran with some street urchins that thought they were tough shit. Of course they were kids, so they weren’t, but it's nice to feel important.
- He was hanging out around the docks and mucking around in everyone’s business when a fancily dressed older human man handed him some luggage and a silver piece and told him to carry it. He thought about running, but decided against it and carried the man’s things to a local inn. The man told him to stick around and he would get paid for more small jobs, so he did.
He performed small errands for the man over a week, until finally the man offered him a position as a cabin boy on his ship. Arthur didn’t give a shit about his family and just left to sea. He was about 14 years old.
- As the cabin boy he had a long list of duties, but enjoyed them as it gave him a sense of purpose. The man turned out to be a captain of a pirate ship (cause what else would he be?), but Arthur didn’t care because he got paid. He ran errands, helped the cook, the whole nine yards. At first it was strange because the captain almost seemed to treat him like a son, asking to speak with him every night and playing cards. He later found out that the captain had lost his wife and son many years ago, and for whatever reason had found something in him he felt he lacked.
- When he was in his 20s he started working as a cannoneer and was trusted to look after the ships munitions. Many of the other sailors grew to resent him due to the captain’s favoritism and he was often forced to stand up to himself every so often. During this time he became a regular at the Grog Pit whenever his ship came into port. He had a reputation for playing a good concertina and singing, despite never being trained as a bard.
- When he was 23ish, the captain released him from service and gave him his trusty pistol before he left. Arthur did not want to accept it, but the elderly captain insisted. Arthur later found out that the ship was caught and most of the members of the crew hanged shortly after he left.
Justifiably scared, he tried to do some honest work for a few years (age 23-25), but found it ultimately boring and not as well paying. He jumped ship (haha pun) and went back to his pirating ways under a new captain, Captain Seamus Cook, and young and bold human and a new ship known as The Dueling Swordfish. He quickly rose in the ranks of the ship due to his general usefulness and knowledge (see knowledge engineering and that ridiculous profession sailor skill).
- Despite the fact that he’s gotten familiar with many different ports, he really loves Absalom and believes it to be his only real home besides the sea. As such he has a few friends floating around who I will describe in another post later. Backstory approved?

Backstory INDEED approved. Do you mind if i pick your origin city for you? Or would you prefer to keep it mysterious/pick it at some point yourself?
Also what was the name of the old Captain who took you in and his old ship - if you don't mind me asking?
Also also - do you want to define Seamus Cook and his crew more, or would you prefer if I took it and ran?
